Pregnancy and Diabetes Nutrition Class

This class is for members who are pregnant and have Gestational Diabetes as well as those who have Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes prior to the pregnancy. In this class you will learn about:
- How Gestational Diabetes is diagnosed
- The importance of good blood sugars in Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes
- Risks to mom and baby if blood sugars are not controlled
- Your blood sugar goals
- Healthy eating and activity for diabetes during pregnancy
- What to expect after pregnancy
This class is taught by a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist (RDN) who will then schedule you for an individual telephone follow-up to help you achieve your blood sugar and healthy eating goals.

Must pre-register
Breast milk is the best nutritional start you can give your newborn. This virtual class and is for pregnant members who will be at least 28 weeks gestation at the time of the class.
- How Breastfeeding Works
- Getting started in the hospital.
- How to correctly latch and position your baby.
- Feeding cues and when to feed your baby.
- Ensuring adequate milk supply.
- Returning to work; pumping and storing milk.
- Breast feeding support services.
This class covers various breastfeeding topics, addressing a wide array of questions and concerns that many participants have about breastfeeding. Partners are welcome and encouraged to attend. Space is limited, please register early.

This 1-hour class is for members who are pregnant and want to learn more about their nutritional needs during pregnancy as well as how to manage some of the common discomforts.

One of the best things soon-to-be moms can do is take
a childbirth preparation and newborn care class. In this
class, you will learn how to prepare for your
baby with discussions on:
• Fetal development
• How to know when labor begins
• Comfort measures
• Epidurals
• Hospital procedures
• Delivery
You will also learn what to do once your baby is born. Newborn care includes:
• Bathing
• Sleep patterns
• Diapering
• Feeding methods
• Dressing
• When to call your pediatrician
