Kaiser Permanente Humana Military TRICARE Provider

Care Away from Home

When You Travel Outside of Georgia

As a Kaiser Permanente TRICARE Prime option member, you’re covered wherever you go around the world. You can still go to any TRICARE-authorized provider plus you can go to any Kaiser Permanente facility.

Emergency care1

If you have a medical emergency and are:

  • in the U.S. – call 911 or go to the nearest hospital.
  • outside the U.S. – go right to the nearest hospital or place where you can get the medical care you need.

If you’re admitted to a non-Kaiser Permanente hospital, we ask that you or the hospital contact us within 24 hours of admission to enable the coordination of your care.

Urgent care2

You can get urgent care without a referral while traveling outside of GA at:

  • any TRICARE-authorized urgent care provider.
  • any military hospital or clinic (if space is available).
  • the VA (if you are eligible).
  • a Kaiser Permanente facility that has urgent care or after-hours services.

Kaiser Permanente provides care in many states including all or parts of California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia, Washington, and District of Columbia.

Just call us 24/7, toll-free at 833-642-5973  to get nurse advice on the best way, and best location to get the care you need.

Filling an urgent care prescription

If you’re traveling outside of GA and receive urgent care at any of the locations listed above and need medication, you can have the prescription filled where you get care, or at the nearest TRICARE retail network pharmacy.

If you receive out-of-network care, you can fill your urgent care prescription at a military hospital or clinic pharmacy, a TRICARE retail network pharmacy, or the VA (if you are eligible).

Non-urgent care

While away from home, in addition to the choices you now have for non-urgent care, you can receive the following care from Kaiser Permanente:

  • email your doctor’s office with non-urgent questions.
  • have a phone/video visit with a Kaiser Permanente physician.
  • connect 24/7 with a Kaiser Permanente care provider for medical advice.
  • see a Kaiser Permanente doctor when you’re in another Kaiser Permanente service area for a non-urgent visit. Just call us toll-free at 833-642-5973 and we can help you get the care you need.

You can also continue to go to:

  • any TRICARE-authorized network provider.
  • a military hospital or clinic (if space is available).
  • the VA (if you are eligible).

Filling non-urgent care prescription

When traveling you can fill your prescription at:

  • a Kaiser Permanente facility pharmacy. Call us toll-free at 833-642-5973 and we can help you find a location.
